What It Does Well or Interestingly

Typical of many RPGs from Japan, this is a game with some unique mechanics.
Game is broken up into to major phases: Search Phase when the players are exploring the forest, and Magic Battle for when they’re confronting the problem of the scenario.
This gives it a structure that novice Game Masters can fall back on if they get lost on what to do next.

Potential Pitfalls

This game relies on a lot of Geometry, which can be a little confusing if you’re not accustomed to regularly drawing with grids.
Determining damage on the Ley Canvas can also be a little confusing to figure out at times.

Sections to Pay Attention To

Useful summaries exist all throughout the book, especially helpful for figuring out how to handle anything involving the Ley Canvas.

Final Thoughts

A novel game from Japan. Sometimes feels more like a board game than an RPG. Otherwise, it’s a short, structured game that’d be a great inclusion in any game master’s collection.
